Brick Ruth, Chapter 2

Frame one: a Lego man dressed in a blue samurai outfit faces the camera under the text, "Now Naomi had a relative on her husband's side, from the clan of Elimelech, a man of standing, whose name was Boaz."
Frame 2: Ruth and Naomi stand in a red brick house around a small Lego table with an empty plastic bowl between them. The text reads, "And Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, 'Let me go to the fields and pick p the leftover grain behind anyone in whose eyes I find favor.' Naomi said to her, 'Go ahead, my daughter.'"

So she went out, entered a field and began to glean behind the harvesters. As it turned out, she was working in a field belonging to Boaz, who was from the clan of Elimelech.

Frame one: in a wheat field made of single-peg yellow Legos built into tall thin pillars, a group of Lego people wearing basketball jerseys gather around Lego Boaz. The text reads, "Just then Boaz arrived from Bethlehem and greeted the harvesters, 'The Lord be with you!' 'The Lord bless you!' they called back."
Frame 2: Ruth sits on the ground in the wheat field placing single-peg yellow legos into a Lego basketball hoop. "Boaz asked the foreman of his harvesters, 'Whose young woman is that?' The foremen replied, 'She is the Moabitess who came back from Moab with Naomi.'"
Boaz and Ruth stand talking to each other with the basket of grain in between. The text reads, "So Boaz said to Ruth, 'My daughter, listen to me. Don't go and glean another field and don't go away from here. Stay here with my servant girls. I have told the men not to touch you. And whenever you are thirsty, go and get a drink from the water jars the men have filled.' At this, she bowed down with her face to the ground. She exclaimed, 'Why have I found such favor in your eyes that you notice me - A foreigner?'"
Frame one: Ruth remains laying on the ground at Boaz's feet as he says, "I've been told all about what you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband. May the Lord repay you for what you have done."
Frame two: Ruth continues placing small yellow blocks into the basket in the dark. "So Ruth gleaned in the field until evening."
Ruth returns to the red brick house, towing the full basket on a small Lego car. The text reads, "She carried it back to town, and her mother-in-law saw how much she had gathered. Ruth also brought out and gave her what she had left over after she had eaten enough."
Ruth and Naomi stand around the table eating from the plastic bowl that is now full of food. The text reads, "Her mother-in-law asked her, 'Where did you glean today? Where did you work? Blessed be the man who took notice of you!' Then Ruth told her mother-in-law about the one at whose place she had been working. 'The name of the man I worked with today is Boaz,' she said.
Frame one: From above, we see Ruth and Naomi stand around the now empty bowl as Naomi says, "The Lord bless him! He has not stopped showing his kindness to the living and the dead. That man is our close relative; he is one of our kinsman-redeemers."
Frame two: Ruth stands in a line of others collecting grain from the field with the text, "So Ruth stayed close to the servant girls of Boaz to glean until the barley and wheat harvests were finished."

Ruth 2

Inspired by Brendan Powell Smith’s work with the Brick Bible, my dad and I decided to use the Lego blocks we had at our disposal to create one of the stories that don’t appear in Smith’s work.
